Where to start with Arabic vinyl records in the USA

A considered approach to collecting Arabic music on vinyl.

Choose a voice you already love

A first collection does not need to cover every era. Start with a singer you return to: Fairuz, Umm Kulthum, Abdel Halim Hafez, Warda or Amr Diab. Then follow the music toward an unfamiliar artist. Our artist index helps you explore without suggesting that every title will be stocked at launch.

Search beyond one spelling

Arabic names are transliterated in several ways. Umm Kulthum may appear as Oum Kalthoum or Om Kolthoum. Try alternate spellings when researching a record, then compare the label and catalog number to establish the exact edition.

What to check when buying Arabic records online

Read the track list, format, disc count, edition, and condition. Look for an actual sleeve image and clear information about whether the record is new, a reissue, or an original pressing. A famous album name alone does not identify the release.

Buying Arabic vinyl records in America

Habibi Vinyl is preparing an online store for the US market. Until launch, this site is an artist and collecting resource. Final stock, prices, shipping charges, and delivery estimates remain to be confirmed.

A thoughtful Arabic music gift

Choose an artist the recipient loves and check whether they have a turntable. If you are choosing for a collector, ask which editions they already own. A record feels personal when the choice is personal.
